I mean, it's bad enough about all the copyrighted uploads, Jihad videos, child porn and stuff that gets uploaded. It's bad enough that 1000's items need moving to the correct sections.

But, when you add that with an extremely large amount of utterly painful spam, the kind of spam that only gets worse each week, the kind of spam that makes my annoyingly frequent requests for "Hancock's Half Hour" look worthwhile in comparison, what else can one say but:
GET SOME BLOODY STAFF NOW OR I WILL UPLOAD MORE ''QUEEN FOR A DAY''!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

This is turning into a pretty poor excuse for a website.Last thing I uploaded,http://www.archive.org/details/ProducersShowcase-ThePetrifiedForest,has been sitting in open source movies for 39 days now.Doesnt give you much incentive to contribute any more material.Hell,I might not anyway. If you have a choice of contributing or not,the latter is always the easier option.

It would be nice if the management would quit being so mysterious about why things are the way they are. It's almost like they shut down the store but left the doors open. I don't think management knows what's happening either, but that's because they're not even bothering to look. And when they do say something, it's a bunch of double-talk.

What's even more annoying is the fact that folks who love IA
(like you guys) are having trouble putting stuff up and once it gets up it stays in open source; while the@#@$%&
pirates are getting in with no problem!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe the Democratic part of Congress (Pelousi and Reid) have a hand in this. What's worse, if one of you guys catch an illegal upload, you can't report it on the illegal movie site w/o these "fine" words from IA' "The site is temporarily shut down. Please try again later."

RE:

I'm no fan of Democrats (or Republicans), but what are you talking about?

I repeat: Huh?

░▒▓█▓▒░▒▓█▓▒░▒▓█▓▒░▒▓█▓▒░▒

A few months ago, it was mentioned on IA discussion boards that if IA has been served with a notice from Homeland Security (perhaps regarding thousands of jihadi videos hosted here), the Patriot Act "gags" the party from whom evidence is demanded. It's a federal crime to even tell anyone that the government has requested such information. If such an investigation is underway, it would be illegal to tell IA patrons about it - but it may prevent IA staff from freely moving files around.

No, Conservative Republican isn't redundant. Conservative is what his beliefs are, Republican is the polictical party he associates with.

My husband and I are conservative independents.

That same situation may also prevent us from even being able to log on. Whatever it is, it's not not slowing down the intake of jihad videos, not to mention all the porn, wrestling, and first-run movies. I don't really believe this has anything to do with the government or homeland security or whatever. I think it's just a matter of lack of action of management and staff. For all I know, there might not be anyone in the building, and from what I've seen, that may not be far from the truth.

Something strange is going on behind the scenes at IA, that's for sure.

That quote is from 1964. He changed his opinions on a lot of things quite a bit over the years. You might even say that he became a pragmatic centrist.

I know this isn't a solution to the problem, but would it be feasible to make a list to the public of what stuff on OSV *IS* good (EG. Stuff uploaded but not dealt with yet) so people can sift through it in an expedited manner?

Thank you,

When I post new flicks, movies, trailers, commercials, and whatever else, I usually post a move request in the forums first with the links the the films. I do it not so much as thinking anything is going to be moved, but with the idea that poeple who might be interested in them can find them easy without the hassle of digging through all the other odd stuff in OS, and I'll post those links again after a while, and later I'll do it again, and again, and so on. Until this site gets it's act together, hopefully before 2012, this is the only way to make it easy for other patrons to find the material they're interested in. Since staff won't move the files into their proper categories for now, it's up to us uploaders to keep our files visible. For now, this is the way it is, it sucks, but what can you do?

Oh, dear. Looks like I need some better medicine. I asked for it months ago and I still haven't got it. But enough about my boring life, surely somebody here could be IA's staff? Even I would be willing to do it (I am home most of the day). Even having a tabby cat or a demon-fox as the staff would be an improvement.

I volunteered myself, pal, and the offer still stands. No response, though. Move stuff? Hell, I can't get stuff uploaded right now because I can't get that damn share button to work. They say that system is "beta". I call it MASTER BETA!
